Farallon Institute is excited to announce a new grant awarded by California Sea Grant for research in 2018-2020 as part of $2.87 million in federal funding that was recently designated by Congress. Our project is titled "Estimating regional krill biomass and availability: significance to California salmonids during a period of extreme environmental variability". Project efforts will include the processing of acoustically-collected data about krill abundance and distribution, and a new post-doctoral researcher will be hired.
